LAKKI MARWAT, May 3: A monthly evaluation of students is imperative to bring to light their potential and also enable the teachers to scrutinise their performance and help assess the teaching methods.
This was observed during a meeting of the teachers of primary schools at the circle office in Meenakhel here on Saturday.
Assistant district officer (inspection) of schools and literacy department Muhammad Ayub Khan and Markez coordinators of the National Commission for Human Development Muhammad Ikhtiar Khan and Naseerul Islam also attended the meeting.
Teachers also presented several suggestions for bringing an improvement in the learning environment at the primary schools. They said that the appointment of mentor teachers proved helpful for teachers in the primary schools as various teaching related problems and their resolution through proper guidance and counseling were discussed.
“A teacher can easily know how many students are weak in his class through the process of monthly assessment”, they said and called upon the officials of the education department to assist teachers during their visits to the schools.
