MIRPURKHAS, May 1: The police seized a mini truck loaded with over 50 bags of pulse meant for the Utility Stores Corporation, Mirpurkhas region, on Wednesday night while it was being transported to other districts.

On a tip off, Satellite Town SPO Atta Mohammad Nizamani with a heavy contingent of police cordoned off the entry and exit points of the town, seized the commodity loaded in a mini truck at Jarwari Shakh roundabout and detained its driver.

When contacted, the SPO denied the arrest of the driver but confirmed that the mini truck was impounded and an FIR was being lodged.

Meanwhile, the police arrested two motorcycle snatchers and recovered three motorcycles and cash from their possession during a raid in Mehran Colony.

However, no case was registered till filing of this report.

MANGO FESTIVAL: A three-day mango and summer fruits festival will start here on June 3. This was decided by the festival management committee which met here on Wednesday.

The festival will be held in the newly-constructed air-conditioned mango exhibition hall on the premises of the Sindh Horticulture Research Institute.

The meeting was informed that agricultural and industrial exhibition, agricultural seminar, cultural show, Meena Bazaar and different sports competitions would also be held.
