NEW DELHI, March 28: A Delhi police commando was injured in a firing incident outside the high-security office of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Friday, a TV channel reported.

It said a commando, identified as Sanjay, sustained injuries in his thigh, and added it was not clear whether it was a case of accidental fire or he was shot at by some colleague.

Officials of the prime minister’s Special Protection Group immediately rushed to the spot and took control of the situation. There are reports that intelligence agencies officials are also on location.

Zeenews said the authorities are taking the matter seriously and interrogating the constable to determine whether this was a case of accidental firing or is an intentional act.
