ISLAMABAD, March 10: The Pakistan army says six suspected militants have been arrested in areas where troops have battled pro-Taliban fighters in recent months. The arrests were made on Sunday in the town of Tank and in Swat.
Violence blamed on Al Qaeda and Taliban-linked militants has spiked recently in Pakistan. Moderate parties who triumphed in elections last month have vowed to combat spreading extremism but have yet to map out their strategy.-—AP
