MITHI, Feb 26: A district council member belonging to the Arbab group tabled a no-trust motion against district naib nazim of Tharparkar Abdul Karim Rahimoon during the session at Karoonjhar hall on Tuesday.
The district naib nazim had parted ways with the Arbabs and was on leave.
About 35 members of the district council have reportedly been taken away to the remote village of Mithrio Malkani in Chhachhro taluka by the Arbab group to gain their support for the no-trust motion against Abdul Karim Rahimoon.
Reading out the contents of the motion at the session presided over by Mohammad Siddique Dal, the council member and Chelhar union council nazim Ali Mohammad Nohri claimed that the district naib nazim had violated the Local Government Ordinance 2001, worked against the public interest, hence a no-trust motion against him tabled and furnished to the presiding officer.
Presiding officer Mohammad Siddique Dal had convened a special session of the council on March 1 for further proceedings and for the decision pertaining to the move.
Meanwhile, Abdul Karim Rahimoon had termed all the allegations levelled against him in the motion as baseless and fabricated.
The council, in other resolutions passed demanded: construction of a building of veterinary centre at village Jiando Mangrio; provide staff for the veterinary centre in Meghe
Jo Tar; sanction construction
of a compound wall for girls’ primary school in Moolani colony in Chelhar; and construction of community centres in village Joruo and Borli Keria areas.
Forty-eight members of the 63-member-council attended the session.
It has been learnt that a defected group of council members, led by Abdul Karim Rahimoon, after developing differences with the Arbab group announced to move a no-trust motion against the district and taluka nazims belonging to the PML-Q.
