City School in soccer semis

KARACHI, Feb 20: Three-goal Osama Sabir helped City School PAF Chapter reach Karachi United schools soccer championship semi-finals after a 4-2 victory over Beaconhouse School Systems PECHS, at the DHA Football Stadium.

Osama opened the scoring in the 14th minute before doubling the lead in the 37th minute.

Waleed Kidwai reduced the margin for the losers three minutes later, while Uzair Bakrani made made it 3-1 in the 48th minute. Mohtashim scored the second for Beaconhouse in the 51st minute before Osama wrapped up the proceedings with a 55th-minute strike.

Obaid slammed home the 67th-minute match-winner in Foundation Public School’s 1-0 victory over The Lyceum School in another quarter-final.

Karachi Grammar School (KGS) outplayed DA Public School for O and A levels 3-1 to make it to the last four.

The winners got off to a fine start with a Shahab Raza goal in the 10th minute. Fahim Sachak extended the lead in the 24th minute before Sikandar Butt got the consolation goal for the losers in the 43rd minute.

Daniyal Alvi of KGS sealed the fate of the match with a 55th-minute strike.

St. Patrick’s High School also qualified for the semi-finals after thrashing Beaconhouse School Systems, Jubilee Campus, 3-0.

Mohammad drew first blood in the 16th minute and Imran found the net through a penalty kick in the 25th minute. Mohammad finished off with a goal in the 50th minute.
