RAWALPINDI, Feb 20: A woman was shot dead by her husband while a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Wednesday.

Tazeem Akhtar, 30, was shot dead allegedly by her second husband in her house in Rawat on Wednesday, police said.

Zafar Ishtiaq, the son of the deceased in a complaint with the police said that his mother had her second marriage with Ilyas but shortly afterwards she developed differences with him and returned to her house. He said on Wednesday her mother was preparing breakfast in the kitchen when she was shot dead in cold blood. He said on hearing the sound of gun shot, he rushed into the kitchen and saw his mother’s second husband Ilyas fleeing.

In the second incident, motorcyclist Akhmad Jan was killed after he was hit by a truck (LXT-6148) in the jurisdiction of Shalimar police.

The truck driver escaped from the scene while the police have impounded the vehicle.
