KARACHI: MQM man shot dead in Kharadar

KARACHI, Feb 12: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead by some unknown persons in Kharadar on Tuesday.

Police said Shakil Baloch, an employee of the city district government, was on his way to work when he had an altercation with some scavengers at a garbage dump near the Kharadar police post at around 9am.

A duty officer of the Kharadar police station said that during the altercation the scavengers reportedly shot Shakil Baloch and fled.

He was rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

The victim was resident of Gul Mohammad Lane in Lyari and belonged to the Lyari sector of the party, police said. A case was registered against four unknown suspects at the Kharadar police station, police said.
