LONDON, Feb 5: Jack Simmons, the chairman of Lancashire, has been appointed as the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman to succeed Dennis Amiss.
Simmons, 66, was elected following a ballot of the 18 counties and the MCC. In the ballot, which was conducted by the Electoral Reform Society, Simmons received 12 votes —beating Clive Leach, the Durham chairman, who received seven.
Amiss, the former England opening batsman, originally beat Simmons to the role of deputy back in November.—Agencies
