KARACHI, Feb 2: Five ships carrying containers, rice, crude oil and coal were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

In the meantime, four more ships carrying containers, cement and wheat also arrived at the outer anchorage. Seven ships, Sima Pars, Maersk Novzzano, Capt. Haris, Xin Hua Men, Yick Shun, Lotus and Y.M. Cultivation, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, wheat, crude oil and coal.

A cargo volume of 73,923 tons comprising 70,004 tons of import and 3,919 tons of export tonnage was handled.

CGM Eiffel and Sima Pars left the port while Mearsk Novazzano and Xin Huamen were expected to depart.
