KARACHI, Jan 28: Brisk shipping activity was observed at the port where three ships to load, unload containers, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated on berths at QICT, Fotco oil terminal and Vopak terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and chemicals arrived at the outer anchorage during the report period.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 70 per cent at the port where eight ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, wheat, chemicals, diesel oil, paraxlyne and iron ore, respectively, during the same period.

The port handled 97,988 tons of cargo comprising 84,188 tons of imports and 13,800 tons of exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,637 containers (Teus).

Four ships sailed out to the sea during the report period.
