KARACHI, Jan 8: Three ships carrying containers and chemicals arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release issued on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 50 per cent at the wharves where five ships, Maersk Georgia, Zabrjed, Leopard-B, Ikan Semrak and Saint Mary, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, coal and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 61,181 tons comprising 42,351 tons of import and 18,830 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were slow as Saint Mary and Maersk Georgia left the port while Maersk Georgia was expected to depart.
