KARACHI, March 31: Twelve vehicles — five cars and seven motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Sunday, the police said.

Three cars were hijacked. Two others were stolen.

One motorcycle was hijacked. Six others were stolen.

The police also claimed on Sunday to have recovered six vehicles in the city: PG-7110, ADM-955, KC-0970, A-1434, KAQ-3330, and RNF-8639.

WOUNDED: A young woman was wounded in a car hijacking attempt in North Nazimabad on Sunday.

The police said that Ayman Ansari, aged 25, suffered a bullet wound to her leg when unidentified car hijackers opened fire on her when she put up resistance to them in the police limits of Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan.

The car hijackers, who were riding on a motorcycle, sped away after opening fire on the woman. The wounded woman was rushed to jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC). She left the hospital after first aid, sources at the hospital said.

A duty officer at Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police station said that the woman suffered slight injury as the bullet simply brushed her leg.

DIES: A young man died and his fellow was injured in a fight over a personal dispute in Malir on Sunday.

The police said that Mohammed Noor, aged 30, and Mohammed Murad, aged 28, had a fight with their cousins Iqbal and Rab Nawaz, both brothers, in a personal dispute in Cattle Colony.

The police said that Iqbal and Rab Nawaz attack Noor and Murad with sticks seriously injuring Noor. Mohammed Noor and Mohammed Murad were injured, and rushed to the JPMC, where Noor died. Murad was admitted to the hospital.
