LAHORE, Dec 9: National Bank (NBP) beat Pakistan Television (PTV) 2-0 in the Pakistan Premier Football League to strengthen their position after mustering 28 points.
Striker Atiq Ullah scored his second goal of the league to give NBP a lead in the 63rd minute, while Abdul Aziz doubled it in the 75th minute.
PTV, after the defeat, maintained their position at 11th place with 11 points from 14 games.
Meanwhile, Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) kept their hopes alive for the Super Six spot in the Pakistan Football Federation League when they outclassed Higher Education Commission (HEC) 4-0.
PEL, playing at national level for the first time, opened scoring in the 16th minute through winger Mahmood Khan and kept the lead until the breather.
PEL dominated the second session and added three more goals. Mehmood once again found the target to make it 2-0 in the 67th minute, while midfielder Muzaffar slotted home two minutes later.
Left-winger Amir Hamza completed the tally four minutes from time.
The Lahore phase will commence on Monday.
