LAHORE, Dec 7: The LPG Distributors Association has refused to accept the recent LPG price cuts made by the Parco and the JJVL, and demanded that prices be brought to the level of December 2006.
Association’s chairman Irfan Khokhar claimed that the two gas companies had raised gas price from Rs45,878 to Rs52,462 per ton on Dec 4, and had tried to hoodwink people by reverting the rates after the prime minister ordered de-linking of prices from the international market.
He said de-linking of prices from international market meant that LPG prices should be brought down to December 2006 level when the same were linked to international market in pursuance of a decision of the Economic Coordination Committee.
The LPG production price in December 2006 was Rs25,000 per metric ton which should be restored.
The producers would not suffer any loss on account of restoration of the December 2006 price because their production price was only Rs5,000 per ton.
