Munir dominates

KARACHI, March 29: Cdr Munir Ahmed of Navy claimed honours on the opening day of inaugural Sindh Governor’s Cup Shooting championship at Naval Shooting Complex Friday.

Munir collected 64 points after first three rounds in the five rounds competition in field of 12 shooters in trap event. After firing just 19 in the first round, he showed better performance with scores of 23 and 22.

Cdr Munir’s team-mate Abdul Rehman put up a good challenge with 62 after rounds of 21, 20, 21 while Major Fakhar was placed third with 61 points. Navy was also leading in the trap team event.

Two more rounds in trap and finals will be conducted Saturday, while skeet competition will start with first three rounds on Saturday with two more rounds and finals on Sunday.—APP
