ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: The All Pakistan Democratic Movement is meeting here on Saturday to discuss its strategy for the coming elections, including whether to boycott them or to contest from a single platform.

PML chairman Raja Zafarul Haq told Dawn that all important issues, including the expected return of Mian Nawaz Sharif, would be discussed at the meeting.

He said the APDM would discuss a proposal to boycott the polls if held under the emergency and the PCO.

He said the PML (N) had no contact with the PPP chairperson but Mian Nawaz Sharif had been in direct contacts with her and they had reached some conclusions on the election issue.

Sources said the APDM would try to work out a plan to unitedely take on the Musharraf regime.

Almost all the major opposition parties, including the PPP, PML (N) and the MMA, have declared they are considering the option of boycotting the elections.
