Inter-district hockey

LAHORE, Nov 20: Six more matches were decided in the Punjab U-17 Inter-district hockey championship on Tuesday.

Three-goal Adeel helped Sheikhupura beat Rahim Yar Khan 5-0 after leading the first half 3-0. Tayyab Hyder and Ali scored one each. Hafizabad defeated Rawalpindi 3-0. The winners led the first half 2-0. Abu Bakar, Ijaz Ahmed and Jamil Din struck a goal each for the winners.

Lahore taught a lesson to Gujrat winning 10-0 after leading the half time 6-0. Abdul Khaliq, Zahid Butt, Kashif Shah, Usman Ghani and Adnan Aslam scored two each.

Layyah outplayed Muzaffargarh 3-2, after a 2-1 lead at the half time. Arslan Qadir, Nauman and Zeeshan fired home for the winners while Asif and Taimur reduced the margin.

Vehari crushed Mianwali 7-0 as Mohammad Wasim scored three. M. Sajjad Ali added two and M. Bilal one.—Sports Reporter
