THATTA: PPP leader joins MQM

THATTA, Nov 20: A former MPA and member PPP Sindh Council, Syed Shafique Ahmed Shah Bukhari, announced that he is joining Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) here on Tuesday.He accused the provincial head of PPP, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, for growing differences in the party, which he claimed, have resulted in cropping up of new groups and factions within the party in Thatta.

The younger brother of former MPA Babu Shah Bukhari, activist of PPP from Sujawal sub-division Syed Shafique Shah told Dawn that he had personally requested the provincial head to intervene and sort out party differences and help streamline the party affairs but he kept on pursuing the method of divide and rule and paid no heed towards the genuine party issues which he claimed, indirectly benefited the party’s staunch rivals — the Shirazis.

He claimed that due to the negligence of Mr Qaim, different factions of Palijo and Arbab Wazir were emerged within the party in Thatta.

He said he believed the MQM was working in an organised manner.

SEMINAR: A one-day seminar, organised by an NGO, VAIDO and HANDS, stressed all factions of society to take concrete steps to promote education and health care for children in rural areas here on Tuesday.

Adam Gandhro, Nazla Hillayo, Ismail Memon and others spoke at the seminar.
