KARACHI, Nov 14: A splendid century by opener Nasir Jamshed enabled National Bank make a strong start against Karachi Whites on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship fixture at the NBP Sports Complex here on Wednesday.
Nasir stroked an unbeaten 100 as the bankers closed at 229-2 in reply to Karachi Whites’ first-innings total of 286 all out. The left-hander hit 14 fours and one six during his 161-ball knock and put on 135 for the second-wicket with Naumanullah, who slammed 14 boundaries in scoring 66.
Skipper Hasan Raza, the discarded Test batsman, was also in brilliant form as he struck 149 – his 31st hundred – to help Habib Bank reach 259-9 against Faisalabad at the Sports Stadium in Sargodha. The 25-year-old right-hander laced his 192-ball innings with 14 fours and one six.
Naseem Khan was the day’s third century-maker. The Quetta skipper converted his overnight tally of 96 to 108 as his side made 351 against KRL at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta.

Following-on, the visitors were 210-5 in their second knock with ex-Test opener Shadab Kabir contributing 95.
