LANDI KOTAL, March 26: Work on Zakha Khel Road project was resumed in the Bazaar area here on Tuesday.

The construction work was suspended after Mughal Khel tribesmen protested against the demolition of their properties for the project.

Meena Baz, an elder of the Mughal Khels, at a meeting with the political authorities in Landi Kotal, suggested that another survey of the area be conducted to save their properties from being demolished.

He alleged that they were never taken into confidence while drawing the map of the road. He was of the view that the length of the road would reduce if a fresh survey was conducted.

But his suggestions were turned down by the government functionaries on the ground that all Zakha  Khel sub-tribes had agreed to the road map drawn some 12 years ago.

Political tehsildar Said Ghafoor have told the Mughal Khels that the administration would strictly go by the map.
