Protesters block GT road

GUJAR KHAN, Nov 7: Some people protested against the proclamation of emergency in the country by setting tyres on fire on the G.T. Road here on Wednesday. According to sources, the unidentified persons came on the road in front of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and tried to block the Lahore section of the dual carriageway.

They, according to eyewitnesses, chanted slogans against the government and disappeared before the arrival of the police. DSP Raja Taifoor Akhtar and SHO Israr Satti reached the spot and cleared the road.—Correspondent
