Tickets to be sold by lottery

BEIJING, Nov 5: Beijing Olympics organisers said on Monday ticket sales would resume next month but via a lottery, after an embarrassing booking system meltdown last week forced sales to be suspended.

The second phase sale will take place between Dec 10 and 30 and will be decided by lottery rather than on a first-come-first-served basis, the Beijing Olympic organising committee (BOCOG) ticketing office said.—AFP
