KARACHI, Nov 5: The Sindh health department has decided in principle to bear all expenses that may incur on the treatment provided by a private hospital to a victim of terrorism or natural calamity.

This was stated by senior provincial minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, who holds the portfolio of health, while talking to a representative delegation of the Liaquat National Hospital here on Monday.

He acknowledged that private hospitals always extended every medical facility available with them on humanitarian grounds and without any discrimination. “For this, the Sindh government, especially its health department, is grateful to them,” he added.

He particularly lauded the services provided by the Liaquat National Hospital in emergencies, and appreciated the sincerity always shown by its staff.

Sardar Ahmed told the delegation leader to immediately submit details of all such incidents so that further action could be processed after their scrutiny.

The delegation assured the minister of full cooperation in the government’s anti-polio campaign and offered to present a documentary produced by the hospital to help make the drive a success.—APP
