SHIKARPUR, Oct 31: Bandits robbed wagons, trucks and buses and snatched cash, valuables and motorcycles at gunpoint in four incidents of robbery on the Indus Highway and link roads in Lakhi and Garhi Yasin talukas on Wednesday.

Reports said 30 highwaymen looted some wagons and trucks near railway crossing No1 on the Lakhi-Naudero road in the limits of Lakhi police before they had an encounter with a police party. Police, however, denied the incident.

In the second incident, bandits deprived Dr Wazir Ali Gunio and a member of his staff who were visiting nearby villages for anti-polio campaign were deprived of two mobile sets, Rs5,000, NICs and some documents on Naushahro Feroze-Abro link road in the jurisdiction of Garhi Yasin police station.

In the third incident, two armed men snatched a motorcycle at gunpoint from Shakeel Ahmed Odho at the same place and in the fourth incident bandits riding on a motorcycle robbed a grain merchant Munawar Lal of Rs3,000 near Khirthar Canal Bridge in the jurisdiction of Garhi Yasin police station.
