QUETTA, Oct 23: Three suspected militants were killed and another was injured in a heavy exchange of fire with security forces in the Kurdan area near Dera Bugti on Tuesday.

The forces arrested two militants and seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, rocket launcher, rockets, grenade and hundreds of rounds.

Police sources said that the security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the establishment of a Farari camp of militants. They cordoned off the area and asked the militants for surrendering, said the sources, adding that the militants opened fire on the forces. The exchange of fire continued for one hour.

The dead were identified as Saeedi Bugti, Mitha Khan Bugti and Yar Khan Bugti. The sources claimed that they were wanted by police in various cases of bomb blasts, attacks on security forces and explosions of gas pipelines and other installations.
