KHAR, Oct 20: Two people were killed and two others were injured when rival groups clashed in Mamond tehsil on Saturday.

Officials said that Faqir Gul and Mamond Khan were at daggers drawn over a money dispute for some months.

They said that Faqir and his men were going to bazaar from their village Badan when they came across Mamond Khan’s men.

They said that both groups opened fire on each other with Kalashnikovs, killing Faqir Gul and Khyal Mohammad.

The injured — Mamond Khan and Fazal Rabi — were taken to the agency headquarters hospital in Khar.

Sources said that local political authorities brokered a ceasefire between the two groups and formed a jirga to resolve the dispute.
