KARACHI, Oct 20: Shipping activity remained normal at the port where three ships carrying containers and edible oil were allotted berths at QICT, and MPT, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, a ship carrying seeds arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 70 per cent at the port where seven ships occupied berths to unload, load containers, cement, seeds, edible oil and furnace oil, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 99,422 tons comprising 86,290 ton imports and 13,123 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,739 containers, was handled during the period under review.

A cargo ship sailed out to the sea on Saturday.
