MIRPURKHAS, Oct 7: Workers of People’s Party Parliamentarians have started a long march from Chhachhro to Karachi to welcome their leader Benazir Bhutto on Oct 18.

The 60 participants of the march, led by Chhachhro PPP president Ghulam Hussein Gaju, arrived in Umerkot town on Saturday.

Later, they left Umerkot for Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad en route to Karachi on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a big rally was brought out by Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Mirpurkhas on Saturday night to celebrate the success of General Pervez Musharraf in the presidential election.

Led by Saleem Razzaq, zonal incharge and members of the zonal committees, the rally comprised of hundreds of vehicles including motorcycles, cars, pickups, mini trucks, coasters, and marched on different roads of the city.

The participants were raising slogans in favour of MQM chief Altaf Hussain and President Gen Pervez Musharraf. They also set off firecrackers and distributed sweets among the people.
