GHALANAI, Sept 28: A woman was beheaded in the village of Nehqai Kandau in the Haleemzai tehsil and her body was dumped by roadside.

A note found near the body accused, Hazrat Bibi, 35, of Phatak area in the Bajaur Agency, of having been involved in ‘immoral activities’.

“The woman was involved in immoral activities and we punished her in accordance with the Sharia. All those involved in such activities would meet the same fate,” the note said.

The tribal administration sent the body to the address mentioned in the note. The body was found in an area where local militants had inscribed the walls with religious slogans two days ago.

Two other women, also accused of having been involved in ‘immoral activities,’ were kidnapped and beheaded in the volatile Bannu district on Sept 7.

In another incident, militants stopped a van carrying some women teachers in the Lakaro tehsil and forced them to go back and start wearing burqa.
