NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Sept 25: The district council unanimously approved Rs430 million development schemes for 2007-08 in its session on Tuesday.

Naib Nazim Ali Khan Almani presided over the session.

The current year’s budget allocates Rs10 million for establishing modern parks in the Naushahro Feroze, Moro and Kandiaro, electrification of Koreja, Yousuf Channa, Deparja and Mehran villages, provision of gas to Gul Mohammad Khaskheli and, Shaikh Mohalla New Jatoi villages and Sindh Colony Moro and new roads and school buildings in the district.

Members, Syed Sajjad Shah, Zulfiqar Behan and Rasool Bux Bughio advocate complained that they had been raising their problems in the council’s sessions but none had been solved yet.

They said that the district officers were not ready to attend the session while people’s problems kept heaping up leading to weakening of people’s trust in elected representatives.

The nazim of union council Phul pointed out that water-logging and salinity had affected lands in the area and led to closure of roads leading to a number of villages.

Riaz Korai and Yousuf Solangi said that the officials of Baitul Maal and post office were delaying payment of funds forcing the poor to pay them bribe to get Baitul Maal fund.

SNATCHED: Two motorcycles were snatched and one was stolen in different areas of Kandiaro taluka late on Monday night.

Reports said that three unidentified armed men snatched motorcycle from one Mohammad Yasin Sehto near Mirzapur village when he was on his way to his village.

In another incident three armed bandits snatched motorcycle from one Qabool Mohammad Shah near Degree College Kandiaro and the same number of thieves barged into the house of a school teacher in Jalal Dal village and stole away his motorcycle.
