LAHORE, Sept 20: The Federal Sports Ministry will issue a notification of the new draft of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) constitution on Friday.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, the PCB chief Dr Nasim Ashraf said that after issuance of the notification, the work to implement the constitution would be started.
According to the new constitution, a 15-member governing board, comprising technocrats, former Test cricketers and representatives of the regional departments would run the PCB, with the chairman as its head.
Dr Nasim, who met various technocrats and cricket-related people on Thursday in connection with the implementation of the new constitution, said the board would consist of six technocrats, two former Test cricketers, five representatives of the regional associations and one representative from the departments.
Meanwhile, Dr Nasim met former Test cricketers Ijaz Butt and Wasim Akram, former chairman PCB Lt Gen Tauqir Zia, Justice Karamat Nazir Bhandari and chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Sports Chaudhry Zafar Iqbal.
It is being said that Ijaz, Wasim and Tauqir Zia may be candidates for the governing body.
