HYDERABAD, Sept 20: Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench on Thursday issued notices to the DCO, the DPO, the DSP Traffic Hyderabad and Section Officer Traffic Latifabad on a constitutional petition, jointly filed by three transporters Amjad Khan, Habib Rahil and Nasir Khan.
The court directed respondents to file their para-wise comments within two weeks.
Petitioners said their coaches did not go out of route and enter city but after court order dated Sept 24, 2004. But the DSP Traffic and Section Officer began taking undue advantage by imposing heavy fines on petitioner’s coaches and other transporters plying on above-mentioned route on baseless allegations.
They said petitioners were not allowed by respondents to pick or drop any passenger from Autobhan Road while a private Daewoo Express Bus Service had been allowed pick and drop Shuttle Service at Bilal Palace in Unit-7 Latifabad situated on Autobhan Road by the DCO Hyderabad.
They stated the bus terminal at Bilal Palace for Daewoo Express Bus Service was established under the supervision and permission of respondents which was favouritism and violation of rights of people.
They said they requested the DCO of any relaxation under the law for them to get permission to pick and drop passengers at Unit-7 Latifabad the way it was given to Daewoo Express but to no avail.
They asked permission for suitable arrangements to pick and drop on plot no B-57 Block-D unit-7 Latifabad.
They prayed the court to direct the DCO to issue permission for pick and drop service at the said plot after completion of all legal formalities. They requested the respondents be restrained from detaining coaches of transporters.
