KARACHI: Task force on housing

KARACHI, Sept 20: The provincial government has decided to set up a task force to create a better environment for housing finance.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aijaz Ahmed Qureshi here on Thursday.

The task force will comprise representatives from the Sindh Secretariat, House Building Finance Corporation, relevant NGOs and the authorities responsible for providing land and housing facilities.

HBFC chairman Zaigham Mahmood referred to the corporation’s services in the field of low-cost housing, stressed the need for availability of land. Head of an NGO, Saiban, Tasnim Ahmed Siddiqi called for laying of infrastructure for providing housing facilities so that people could start living in the allotted houses immediately.—APP
