KARACHI, Sept 20: The information secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party, Sindh chapter, MNA Dr Fehmida Mirza, has strongly condemned the launching of a fresh media trial of Ms Benazir Bhutto just ahead of the announcement of the schedule of the presidential election.

In a press statement issued here on Thursday, Dr Mirza said that successive governments had spent millions of dollars on the investigations in various cases against Ms Bhutto and Senator Asif Ali Zardari and dragged them from court to court and jail to jail for over a decade but had so far failed to prove anything.

The PPP leader said that the dictatorial forces had always been trying to harm and discredit the popular leadership but the masses had always foiled their attempts.

Dr Mirza termed the fresh media trial of Ms Bhutto a conspiracy against the country’s most popular leadership.
