LAHORE, March 17: The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy is holding a public meeting on the Pakistan Day to challenge dictators like Hazrat Imam Husain did, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan said on Sunday.

Addressing a seminar in memory of the late Maulana Muhammad Husain Naeemi, he highlighted the importance of March 23, saying the day could not be ignored in any case.

The ARD, he said, would renew its pledge on the day to safeguard the national interests and dedicate all energies for the betterment of the country.

Enumerating the challenges facing the country at present, the ARD chief said they could be countered through national unity alone. He said only political leaders could inspire the nation and prepare it to offer sacrifices.

About the military rulers, the Nawabzada said they paid a lip service to the sayings and ideals of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal and their deeds were in sharp conflict.

He said it was regrettable that some people wanted a new constitution for the country, without realizing that framing a unanimous constitution in the present era was simply impossible.
