MULTAN, March 17: The Seraiki Democratic Forum (SDF) has criticized the Pakistan People’s Party leadership for ignoring rights of Seraiki people while launching protest campaign in Sindh over water issue.
In a press statement SDF Chairman Abdul Sattar Thaheem said the Seraikis had an equal right over the River Indus water as the river flowed through 800 kilometres of Seraiki belt which was the agricultural heartland of the country.
He complained the campaign of PPP and other Sindhi nationalist organizations to ‘forcibly’ snatch water rights of the Seraikis was meant to leave the area barren.
He claimed the project of Thal Canal was not a new proposal but it was the part and parcel of the Sindh-Tas agreement under which the rivers which flowed through the Seraiki belt like Satluj and Bias were given to India.
He said the PPP’s campaign in Sindh over the issue had exposed its so-called federal politics and proved that it was now only a Sindhi nationalist party.
CONDEMNED: Justice and peace commission Chairperson Sister Norris Nawab on Sunday condemned the attack on church in Islamabad and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.
She criticized the law enforcement agencies for their failure to apprehend the culprits.
