JACOBABAD, Sept 12: The 16-hour long electricity breakdown affected 20 villages of Tangwani taluka, Kashmore district on Wednesday, according to reports.

Villages remained without power from Tuesday 7pm till Wednesday 11am. Villagers faced hardships because of power suspension. Rice mills also remained closed due to power outage.

Villagers held a protest meeting and decided to block Thul-Kandhkot Road on September 14 for full day and summon Hesco officials. They said if official fail to reach on Friday, they will prolong the protest till the restoration of power.

The SDO of Hesco denied the 16-hour load-shedding and said one 132kv transformer developed a fault which would take two more days to repair.—Correspondent
