QUETTA, Sept 11: Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti, chief of his own faction of the Jamhoori Watan Party, has condemned the arrest of dozens of Bugti tribesmen in the Lungosughri area of Jaffarabad district.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, he said women were insulted by personnel of the security forces during raids on the homes of Bugti tribesmen. He said the crackdown was aimed at forcing the Baloch to make compromises.
He said the Baloch would never forgive the oppressors who killed numerous Baloch people, including Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.
He said the court should take notice of the unlawful arrest of Bugti tribesmen, adding that during raids the security personnel took away valuables.
Criticising the deportation of Nawaz Sharif, he said the move was in clear violation of a recent Supreme Court verdict that allowed the former premier to come and stay in the country.
Nawabzada Talal said continued suppression of the people’s political struggle would force the masses to reciprocate in a manner that would put the county’s integrity at stake.
He said people should support the apex court vis-a-vis implementation of its verdicts, saying that if the judiciary became weak then Gen Musharraf would turn into a “monarch”.
