HYDERABAD, March 15: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, comprising Justice Shabbir Ahmed and Justice Mushir Alam, issued notices to the SHO, Kario Ganwar police station, and enquiry officer, Badin, on two separate constitutional petitions, praying for the recovery of two illegal detainees.
Mr Wahid claimed that his father, Sahib Khan (70), had filed constitutional petitions against the SHO, Kario Ganwar police station, seeking the release of his relatives. He added that his father had also filed petitions against the Matli and Badin police.
The petitioner stated that the police had earlier arrested Sahib Khan, his son-in-law, Razi Khan, and son, Shah Khan. He added that the police later released his father after taking Rs10,000.
He said that it was also confirmed during an inquiry conducted by the DSP\enquiry officer of the Additional IG, Hyderabad region, Abdul Rauf Yusufzai. He added that the DSP\enquiry officer told Mr Sahib to return the money to the SHO and take him away.
He said that he was still in the illegal confinement of police.
The court issued notices to the policemen concerned.
Earlier, a raid was conducted by a high court official in the same case but the detainees were not found. Petitioner, Dhani Bux, submitted that his brother, Karim Bux, was being held under illegal detention by the Kario Ganwar police since the last one and a half months.
He said that the police kept him shifting from one place to another to avoid a raid by court officials. He said that the SHO had informed the inquiry officer that he was unable to produce the detainee for lack of time.
