KARACHI, Aug 30: Three people were killed in separate incidents in parts of the city on Thursday.
Two young men, in their mid thirties, were killed in what appears to be an act of a targeted killing near Gulberg Chowrangi.
According to witnesses, the attackers, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on the victims, who died on the spot.
Their bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Hospital sources said that one of the victims received eight bullets while the other received four, from a very close range as most of the bullet went through their bodies. They were later identified as Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Ashraf, both residents of a locality near Lasi Goth in North Karachi.
Police suspect personal enmity behind the killing.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead during his struggle with robbers in Kharadar late on Thursday night. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital where he was identified as Amir, 35. Police said that the incident took place at Khajoor Market.
Bodies found
A young man was found shot dead at a desolate place in Nasir Colony. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was identified as Zahoor alias Daddu. Hospital sources said that the victim had received three bullets.
According to police, the victim was a former worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. They said that he had been recently released from jail on bail.
Police have registered a murder case against unknown culprits on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Ghafoor.
A bullet-riddled body of a trussed-up man was found in a gunny bag in Khokrapar. It was shifted to the JPMC for a post-mortem examination. Hospital sources said that the body was at least three days old and the victim was in his early 30s.
Ex-nazim’s son booked
A son of former city nazim Niamatullah Khan along with others has been booked in a kidnapping case.
According to police, an FIR 297/2007 has been registered against Nadim, son of Niamatullah Khan, and his associates at the Aziz Bhatti police station on the complaint of Col (retd) Ziauddin.
