SHEIKHUPURA Aug 29: The traffic on Lahore-Sargodha Road within the city limits remained suspended for four hours on Wednesday when scores of ARD and Jamaat-i-Islami activists staged a sit-in to protest the alleged thrashing of JI’s city president by a CIA sub-inspector on Tuesday.

The protesters chanted slogans against the inhuman attitude of the CIA sub-inspector and his staff.

DPO Dr Shafique suspended SI Naseer Cheema, head-constable Rafi and constables Sarwar and Bashir. Reports said that Rana Toufa Dastgir had gone to CIA police station for some work when the SI lost his temper over some point. The SI ordered his staff to hang Toufa with a roof and beat him.
