LAHORE, March 13: Fine unbeaten century by Waqar Kundi (103) enabled Karachi University to take a 141-run lead against Peshawar University on the second day of their Inter-University cricket Championship at the Punjab University New Campus ground Wednesday.
Replying to Peshawar University’s meagre first innings total 190, the Karachi University resumed their first knock at 52 for no loss in the morning and mustered a total of 331 for five in the allotted 80 overs.
Waqar Kundi struck 10 boundaries and three sixes.
By close of play, Peshawar University, in the second innings were 72 for one.
PESHAWAR UNIVERSITY: 190 (Nazir Khan 88; Raheel Siani 3/28 Fahad Khan 2/26) and 72 for one.
KARACHI UNIVERSITY: 331 for five (Waqar Kundi 103 not out, Mohammad Farrukh 65, Adeel 59, Faisal 45, Ghazanfar 38).
PUNJAB UNIVERSITY: 324 for 8 (Arsalan 88, Haroon Rahim 51, Farhan Usman Khan 68, Asim Ijaz 44 not ou) and 68 for two.
BAHADUDDIN ZIKRIYA UNIVERSITY: 247 (Khurram Usmani 76, Abdul Haq 52).
