MIRPURKHAS, Aug 27: The Mirpurkhas District Council has resolution unanimously asking the provincial government to provide special grant to district government for treatment of malaria and hepatitis patients.

A meeting was held here on Monday and presided over by Zila Naib Nazim Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali. The house adopted the resolution moved by its member Javed Iqbal Ramdani.

The District Council meeting through another resolution presented by Ali Mardan Shah demanded of the district government to provide Rs10,000 honorarium to the member of district council. Convenor assured that the honorarium would be paid to members from next month on new scale.

Ali Mardan Shah said under the SLGO Section-119, Zila Nazim was not authorised to use the power of District Council and all the CCB schemes should be presented and approved by the Council.

Ameer Hassan Kaimkhani complained the ongoing development work in Kot Ghulam Mohammad was not satisfactory and said it should be carried out with consultation of Union Council Nazims.

The EDO Community Development Mohammad Yousuf Gill informed the house that 870 CCBs including 281 CCBs of women were registered in the district. Member A.D. Lakho presented the list of schemes of new 403 CCBs in the meeting for approval. It was decided that new schemes would be considered in the next meeting of the Council.

Younus Talpur, Choudhry Naseer, Shamim Jhandair, Aslam Kaimkhani and other opposition members protested on the approval of CCB schemes by Zila Nazim and boycotted the meeting.

JSQM RALLY: The JSQM activists took out a rally on Monday from the Railway Station Chowk against unemployment, inflation, lawlessness and disappearances of nationalist from Sindh and Balochistan.

Protesters led by central leader Rasool Bux Thebo, carried banners and placards and marched through main roads and reached the press club.

Speaking on the occasion, Rasool Bux Thebo lamented that Sindhi people were suffering since the inception of this country and a sense of deprivation prevailed among them. He further said Sindhi people were living in backward conditions due to the negligence of rulers.

He said the solution to all grievances of Sindh was the right of self-determination. Dr Mohammad Khan Samejo and Salahuddin Kaka spoke on the occasion.

FARM LOAN: President Sindh Agriculture Development Association Rais Ahmed Khan has urged the authorities to bind banks to remove all hindrances in issuing agriculture and advance loans to growers on minimum mark up.

He deplored in a statement for ignoring abadgars and zamindars in car leasing and credit card facilities.

Rais Ahmed Khan demanded the government to provide tractor-leasing scheme like car leasing scheme and lift the condition of equity for tractor leasing scheme.
