SWABI, Aug 20: A villager here on Monday submitted an application in the court of the district and sessions judge requesting registration of an FIR against eight police officials who allegedly conducted an illegal raid on his residence, thrash the inmates and violated sanctity of his house.

The applicant, Mir Rehman, a resident of Pak Kaya village, about 18kms from Swabi town, filed the application under section 22-A of the Criminal Procedure Code.

He said that five days back when police entered his house announcements were made on loudspeakers for help against police and most of them were thrashed by the villagers.

The applicant claimed that police officials ensured that no FIR would be registered against them and instead a case was registered against Mir Rehman, his son Jamil Khan and others.

The accused secured the pre-arrest bail from a court in Haripur district and they would appear in a local court on August 23 for the confirmation of their bail.

The accused police officials are: SHO Mohammad Ilyas Khan, SI Mohammad Islam Khan, ASI Amjid Ali and head constable Farooq and four other officials.

Mir Rehman said the police team entered the house without any search warrant in violation of section 102 CrPC on the pretext that his son Jamil Khan had stolen diesel oil from a contractor of Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway. He alleged that police subjected to torture women and children.

He said the inmates started hue and cry following which neighbours came out from their houses and protested against police brutality.

Later, the elders intervened in the matter on the arrival of DSP circle and the issue was resolved between villagers and police party.

He said that the DSP was bound under the law to register case against police party, but he shielded his subordinates from the law.

The villagers said the police officials assured them that FIR would not be registered against the applicant and others, but once the police managed to go away from here they changed their plan and registered a case against them.

They said the police was responsible for untoward incident, because they entered in the house by force.
