MULTAN, Aug 12: Three policemen and a criminal were killed while another policeman was injured in a shootout when police raided a house in Dunyapur in Lodhran district on Sunday.

The Seetal Mari police got information that two proclaimed offenders, Muhammad Shafi Ood and Abdul Shakoor Ood, wanted in several dacoity cases, were hiding in the house of Muhammad Yaseen Ood and Muhammad Ibrahim Ood in Dunyapur.

Police team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Amir Hamza along with Dunyapur Saddar police team cordoned off the house. The criminals shot at policemen killing SI Amir Hamza and constable Dost Muhammad on the spot while injuring constable Ziaullah. The injured constable was shifted to Nishtar Hospital in precarious condition where he succumbed to his bullet wounds.

In the meantime, City and Saddar police personnel reinforced the police party and started a search operation on which Ibrahim Odd opened fire injuring constable Saeed. The police retaliated and killed Ibrahim, alias Farmani, on the spot. However, Ibrahim’s three accomplices fled.
