HYDERABAD, March 11: Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association, Sindh, has taken strong exception to the utterances of the Sindh health secretary in which he has threatened to ban the activities of the association by terminating the services of the activists.

Talking at a meeting of paramedical staff at the Liaquat university hospital here on Sunday, the provincial chief organizer of the association, Eijaz Ahmed Kakepoto, organizer, Parshutam, and others, alleged in order to hide the corrupt practices of the officials of the health department, the health secretary was trying to gag the voice of the association.

They warned no one had the right to stop them for raising their voice for the rights of paramedics.

Meanwhile, the office-bearers of Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign, Mohammad Khan Ahmedani, and others have also severely criticized the utterances of the health secretary against the paramedical staff.

In a joint statement, they said they would not allow anyone to victimize paramedics.

MEDICAL CAMP: Isra University Welfare Hospital, Hyderabad, organized a free medical camp at rural health centre, Matiari on Monday.

Former speaker of Sindh Assembly, Jalal Mehmood Shah, inaugurated the camp and visited its several sections.

Specialist doctors and professors of in medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics and gynaecology and obstetrics examined patients free of cost and also provided free medicines.

In all 2,600 patients were examined and 50 were admitted to the hospital for free surgery. X-ray, ultrasound and laboratory tests were also conducted.
