QUETTA, Aug 7: The Balochistan High Court on Tuesday issued notices to security personnel in a petition filed against the arrest of a citizen by intelligence agencies.The petition was filed by Umar Khan Marri.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani ordered to issue notices to commandant of the Military Intelligence, commandant of the Kulli camp, provincial home secretary, deputy attorney-general and SHO of the Shalkot police station.

The petitioner said that his nephew Safar Khan Marri, a driver by profession, was going to hospital with his mother on July 4 when he was arrested by security personnel.

He requested the court to declare the arrest illegal and direct the quarters concerned to release the detainee. The hearing was adjourned till August 20.
