KARACHI, March 10: The Association of Physically Handicapped Adults (APHA) has urged the philanthropists to donate generously to its centre in Gulistan-i-Jauher to help it complete its phase-II plan.
In an appeal, president of the association, Shariful Muzaffar, said in the phase-II of the project, the centre would be equipped with facilities like hydrotherapy, occasional therapy, gymnasium and library.
Speaking at the annual general meeting of the association Saturday night, he said the APHA had successfully completed its phase-I development plan, under which facilities like physiotherapy, fitness, industrial home, computer training and provision of artificial limbs and callipers’ workshop etc., had been provided in the centre for its over 1,000 members.
He said the association needed Rs20 million to complete the phase-II of the project and to provide the much needed facilities to physical revival of its members to enable them earn their livelihood in a respectable way.
Elections for office bearers were also held on the occasion.—APP
