Zone-II Blues, VI Whites win

KARACHI, July 20: Spinners Ramiz Rafiq and Sajjad Rafiq shared nine wickets between them but failed to prevent Zone-V Blues from a 24-run defeat at the hands of Zone-II Blues in a KCCA Inter-zonal Under-17 championship match on Thursday.

Left-arm spinner Ramiz finished with figures of 5-35 while off-spinner Sajjad got 4-28 as Zone-II Blues, batting first, were bowled out for 196 in 47 overs. Hamza Naqvi top scored with 55.

Zone-V Blues, in response, could only touch 172 before being dismissed in 41.4 overs. Habib-ur-Rehman and Imran Javed took three wickets apiece for the winners.

Meanwhile, Kamran Ahmed cracked an unbeaten 51 as Zone-VI Whites defeated Zone-III Blues by five wickets. Left-arm spinner Shahzaib Ali grabbed four wickets for 37 to play key role in his team’s victory.
